In each of these markets, Silixa’s product offering is the IDAS sensing unit, cable and components, installation services, data visualisation and data interpretation services. We always work with the customer to ensure they get the information they require

Upstream

Upstream

The main use for Silixa’s technology is for permanent downhole distributed flow measurement and acoustic monitoring in wells. This encompasses:

  • - distributed multiphase flow metering across the reservoir
  • - sand production monitoring
  • - monitoring perforations
  • - detecting casing leaks
  • - detecting cross-flow and flow behind the casing
  • - gas lift optimisation
  • - submersible pump condition monitoring etc
  • - monitoring injection rates
  • - monitoring carbon dioxide injection and sequestration


Midstream

Midstream

Silixa’s Intelligent Distributed Acoustic Sensor is a powerful tool to allow the monitoring of flow rates and flow conditions. In the midstream energy market, the IDAS system can provide a full flow assurance package that can be deployed along pipelines and flowlines. In particular we are targeting:

  • - multiphase flow metering
  • - hydrate formation
  • - scale formation
  • - corrosion
  • - erosion
  • - leak detection
  • - acoustic imaging
  • - pig tracking
  • - detecting faulty valves/ activators
  • - check valves and choke tuning

Downstream

Downstream

In Downstream Energy, we are focusing on key applications in refineries for full coverage of high-temperature vessels. Fibre optics can withstand temperatures as high as 750°C (1400°F), with special coatings, and can be directly applied to the high temperature surfaces. Main applications are:

  • - acoustic imaging
  • - process monitoring
  • - noise and vibration monitoring of machinery
  • - corrosion detection
  • - fatigue detection
  • - high temperature chemical and steam flowline monitoring
